Client Goal 

The client aimed to streamline internal operations by creating a centralized application that would allow police stations and authorized users to submit various service requests. The solution needed to manage permissions for accessing sensitive data, equipment requests, media files, leave applications, uniform requisitions, and expense approvals — all within a secure and role-based framework. 

Challenges Faced 

The client’s existing processes were fragmented, requiring manual coordination across multiple departments. Sensitive data requests had to be carefully controlled, but without a centralized system, maintaining oversight and ensuring compliance was difficult. Approvals for different requests often involved multiple stakeholders, leading to delays. Additionally, timesheet tracking and payroll integration were handled separately, creating inefficiencies and risks of errors in reporting. 

Our Approach / Contribution 

We developed a Power Apps solution with a robust multi-form setup and role-based access control. This ensured only authorized users could initiate requests, while workflows routed each request to the appropriate division for single or multi-level approval. Post-approval, notifications were automatically sent to the respective owners for timely action. 

We also integrated the client’s timesheet system into the application. Users could submit timesheets via desktop or mobile, with built-in approval workflows. Once approved, the timesheet data was seamlessly transferred to the client’s custom payroll software, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in payroll processing.
