Portfolio Management System Reconciliation

Client Goal 
The client needed an automated system to reconcile daily portfolio updates for thousands of accounts, including equity market changes and investment adjustments, ensuring accurate and timely updates in their existing portfolio management system. 

Challenges Faced 

• Manual reconciliation of approximately 4,000 accounts daily was time-consuming and prone to errors. 

• Data came from multiple sources including Excel reports, bank APIs, and market feeds. 

• Ensuring accurate updates in the existing PMS system required precision and consistency. 

• Generating reconciled records and storing them for reporting posed operational challenges.
   

Our Approach / Contribution 

Star Knowledge developed a custom automation solution combining Power Automate Desktop, Python scripts, and Power Automate cloud flows. The workflow automated extraction, reconciliation, and updating processes, while approvals and validations were integrated where necessary. Data was processed, reconciled, and securely stored in AWS S3 buckets for future reference.
