The Client

The client is a global leader in the Electrical / Electronic manufacturing industry, a complete end-to-end thermal solutions design, engineering, and manufacturing company in New Hampshire, USA. The company since 1957 has expanded into a global delivery capacity solution provider with offices spread across California, North Carolina, Wisconsin and China.

The Need

With over 500 employees distributed across different regions, the business’ workflows and approval processes were entirely paper-driven. The workflows involved 8 levels of approval processes which resulted in delayed project execution and high overhead.

The client was looking for a solution that automates workflows, tasks, document approvals with clearly defined steps/stages which could be easily managed on desktops as well as mobile devices with features like push notifications via emails, SMSs whenever a desired action/request was fulfilled.

The Challenge

The solution required the Star Knowledge team of experts to build SharePoint custom forms and workflows that trigger push notifications via emails. Since the forms were associated with an 8-level approval process, the customization of forms was a challenge. Each form required high amounts of customization to ensure it gathers required information and follows entire process.

The Solution

The project required the Star Knowledge Team of experts to leverage Microsoft Flow (Microsoft Power Automate) and Microsoft PowerApps platforms to tailor the desired solution for the client. With extensive experience in handling custom customer requirements around Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Flow, and Microsoft PowerApps development services our consultants integrated the Microsoft PowerApps platform with Microsoft SharePoint Online to build custom PowerApps forms and embed them into SharePoint list, so they are easily accessible to all the employees. The user permissions, access to analytics reports were set from SharePoint.
